Hakone-machi, Water Supply Technical Supervisor
Katsuhiro Yamazaki, Water Supply Technical Supervisor, Hakone-machi
Thoughts on joining the Yosebito Project
I have worked in Hakone-machi’s waterworks for over 20 years since 1990. I have been deeply involved in Hakone’s water supply, from water source development to water purification and treatment.
Even in mid-summer, the spring and well water from the water source are cool and pure. I joined the Yosebito project in agreement with their ethos, and with the wish for more and more people, both within Japan and from overseas, to love this water, which is embraced by Mt. Hakone and gushes out from the mountain body. I hope many 39 people experience Hakone’s water and celebrate how wonderful it is. It is my intention to continue to protect and preserve this wonderful water.
Katsuhiro started working at the Hakone Town Hall more than 30 years ago, and initially started as a water quality analysis engineer.
He is now an expert in Hakone Town’s waterworks, not only in water quality but also in civil engineering, machinery, and electrical equipment and is responsible as a water supply technical supervisor.
Katsuhiro has competed in triathlons and judo since he was young and still climbs and runs mountains where water sources are located.
